Price comes down to what is on the ground and how much of it has to move. Trees, rock, wet dirt, the haul distance and how far the machines travel all change the number. That cannot be priced off a photo, so we come look at the ground first. The estimate is free.
Do you charge for an estimate?

What areas do you serve?
We are an excavation contractor based in Trinity, and we work about 60 miles out. All of it is inside Alabama. That takes in Morgan, Lawrence, Limestone, Madison, Cullman, Lauderdale, Colbert, Franklin, Winston, Marshall and Walker counties. Decatur is next door, and we travel to Huntsville, Madison, Athens, Cullman and the Shoals.
Can you dig in rocky ground?
Yes. The ground here has limestone and chert in it, often close to the surface. Our trackhoes carry rippers that break layered rock loose so the bucket can lift it out. Solid bedrock is a different job, and we tell you if we run into it.
What is the difference between land clearing and forestry mulching?
Land clearing takes everything off the ground, stumps and roots included, and the debris gets hauled away. Forestry mulching grinds brush and small trees where they stand and leaves the chips lying on the ground. Clearing is the pick when you plan to build or grade. Mulching suits underbrush, trails and land you want to keep wooded.
What happens to the trees, dirt and debris?
Our dump trucks haul it off the property. Dirt and rock can also be spread or buried on site when there is a spot for it. If you want to keep the wood, tell us where to pile it. Burning is the landowner's call, and burn permits in Alabama come from the Alabama Forestry Commission.
Do you build house pads and gravel driveways?
Yes. We cut and build pads for houses, barns, shops and metal buildings, with fill brought in and packed in lifts. We also build new gravel driveways and farm roads and regrade old ones. Both get shaped so water sheds off instead of standing.
What should I have ready before you start?
Know where your property lines run, and flag them if you can. Point out the trees you want kept and anything on the ground we should work around. We call Alabama 811 before we dig, which is free and gets the buried utility lines marked. Alabama 811 asks for at least two working days of notice, not counting the day it is called.
